OBFCLOTHING PRESENTS PROFILES

This will be a section where I approach certain people  / friends / and OBF family members who I feel put their heart into their work. The first one I will be doing is on a close friend who I have watched grow. Every chance this dewd had he was practicing. I would go to a party at his brothers house and there he was practicing away while providing music for the party. He has put tons of time in preparing sets for events downtown and festivals at the riverfront. He sat down with OBFCLOTHING to do a short Q & A. He also prepared a mix for OBFCLOTHING as well that you can check out below. Without further ado I present DSCOTT.

Q. Who are you and what do you do?

 A. I like to think of myself as a man of many talents, but on the decks is where I come alive as dScott. I’m the resident DJ at Windsor’s Revival Social Lounge. I also post monthly mixes and mash-ups on my Soundcloud. Check it out @ soundcloud.com/dscottdaily

Q. Why do you do what you do?

A. Dj-ing is a passion of mine. I love the music, I love the energy of the crowd, and I love the learning experience. It’s such a great feeling when you’re able to mix things up to create something new. Dedicating yourself to something and actually feeling yourself improve and grow at it is rewarding in itself, but when it’s something you really love to do – that’s when the magic happens.

Q. What is your most embarrassing moment?

A. My first ever DJ-ing gig. I was so nervous I had sweat through my shirt before I even started. My brother patted me on the back and said – and I quote – “don’t worry bro, you’ll be fine… the worst thing that could happen is the music stops”. Sure enough, I hit a button at the wrong cue point and the music stopped dead. It was awful. I was able to recover fairly quickly, but you better believe I always double check now.

Q. What is your most memorable moment?

A. This year I had the chance to play Windsor’s Coming Home Music Festival as the afternoon headliner of Life in Colour. It was an amazing opportunity to open for Grandtheft and Cedric Gervais and play in front of over 2,500 people. The energy was amazing and it was certainly an experience I won’t soon forget. I hope to be returning to the CHMF in 2015.

Q. What is your favourite food?

A. Meat lovers pizza – the pizza of a real man.

Q. If you could be a mix of two animals which two would you be and why?

A. A Panda, because I’m cute and cuddly (hello ladies)- yet angry like a bear. And a lion because my ego wants to be king of the jungle. So… a Pandion? A Landa?

Q. Can I be your next #mcm?

A. You can be mine if I can be yours.

Q. When is your next show?

A. Saturday February 7th at Revival Social Lounge. As resident DJ, you can catch me there most Saturdays. And of course, you can always check out monthly mixes, on my Soundcloud: soundcloud.com/dscottdaily
